Why every Etsy seller needs a privacy policy
The moment a buyer places an order on Etsy, you receive personal data: their name, shipping address, sometimes a phone number, and any custom order details they typed into the listing. Under GDPR (EU and UK), CCPA (California), and PIPEDA (Canada), you become a data controller for that information, even if Etsy is the platform that collected it.
