Bulk Create: build and publish many listings at once

Last updated on

Bulk Create lets you build one listing or a hundred in a single sitting, all from one screen. Instead of clicking through the normal create flow over and over, you set up everything side by side and save it all as drafts (or publish) in one go.

There are two ways to use it. You can drag and drop a folder of prepared images, videos, files, and text, and let Listadum turn each subfolder into a listing for you. Or you can start from a blank table and fill listings in by hand. Either way, every Listadum tool you already use stays available on each listing, so you can finish them properly before they go live.

Bulk Create is available on the Starter plan and above.

When to use it

Bulk Create shines any time you have more than a couple of listings to make at once:

  • You’re moving an existing catalog into your shop and want to get it all in quickly.
  • You batch-produce designs (prints, digital downloads, POD) and create listings in waves.
  • You prep your images and copy in folders on your computer, then want to upload everything in one pass.

If you only need a single listing, the normal create flow is perfectly fine. Bulk Create is built for volume, and it’s where power sellers will spend their time.

How to open it

From the listing manager, open the Create listing dropdown and choose Bulk Create.

From here you can either drag and drop a prepared folder or start from scratch.

Method 1: drag and drop a folder

This is the fastest way to create a lot of listings, because you do the prep once on your computer and let Listadum do the assembly.

Prepare your folder

The idea is simple: each listing is one folder of files, and you drag in a parent folder that holds all of them.

Two structures work:

  • One listing: a single folder containing that listing’s files.
  • Many listings: a parent folder containing several subfolders, each one holding the files for a single listing.

What goes in a listing folder

Inside each individual listing folder, you can include:

Images (required) 1 to 20 images, in .jpg or .png.

Video (optional) 1 video, in .mp4 or .mov.

Metadata files (all optional) Plain .txt files that fill in the listing’s details. Add the ones you want and skip the rest:

FileWhat it sets
title.txtThe listing title
description.txtThe listing description
tags.txtThe tags, either comma separated or one per line
price.txtThe listing price
quantity.txtThe listing quantity
sku.txtThe listing SKU

Note that default, the folder name will become the listing title, unless a title.txt file is present.

Files subfolder (optional, for digital downloads) A subfolder named files containing 1 to 5 files. These are uploaded as the digital download for a digital listing.

Note: the files must comply with Etsy’s file guidelines in term of format and size, or they will be rejected.

A typical parent folder might look like this:

My new listings/
├── sunset-print/
│ ├── 1.jpg
│ ├── 2.jpg
│ ├── title.txt
│ ├── description.txt
│ ├── tags.txt
│ ├── price.txt
│ └── files/
│ └── sunset-print-A4.pdf
├── mountain-print/
│ ├── 1.jpg
│ ├── 2.png
│ ├── video.mp4
│ ├── title.txt
│ └── price.txt
└── ...

Drop it in

Drag the parent folder onto the Bulk Create view. Listadum reads each subfolder and turns it into a listing, pulling in the images, video, files, and any metadata it finds. Anything you left out stays empty for you to fill in next.

Method 2: start from scratch

Don’t have files prepped in folders? You can build listings directly in the Bulk Create view. Add rows, fill in the details for each listing across one screen, and save them all at once. This is handy when you’re working from ideas rather than ready-made assets, or when you just want a faster path than the one-at-a-time flow.

Finish your listings with Listadum tools

However your listings get into Bulk Create, they’re not locked. Every Listadum tool is available on each one so you can polish before publishing:

  • Completion scores to see what each listing still needs
  • Video generator
  • Image previews
  • AI helpers for titles, descriptions, and more
  • Keyword lists and the keyword explorer

Work through your listings, lean on the tools where they help, and get each one where you want it.

Apply a Template to many at once

Once your listings are populated, you can apply a Listadum Template to them. Templates are the quick way to push the same change across a batch, so you don’t repeat the same edit dozens of times. Select the listings, apply the Template, and the shared settings land on all of them.

Save as drafts or publish

When you’re ready, save everything as drafts to keep refining later, or publish the batch. There’s no set limit on how many listings you can create in one session. Bulk Create is built to take the slog out of doing this at scale.

Note: if you decide to publish your listings, remember that Etsy will charge you $0.20 per listing at that time.

FAQ

How many listings can I create at once? There’s no fixed limit. Create as many as you need in a single session.

Which plans include Bulk Create? It’s available on the Starter plan and above.

Are images required? Yes. Each listing needs at least 1 image (up to 20), in .jpg or .png. Everything else (video, metadata, download files) is optional.

Can I use it for digital download listings? Yes. Add a files subfolder with 1 to 5 files inside a listing folder, and those become the digital download.

Do I have to prepare folders to use Bulk Create? No. Folders are the fastest route when you already have assets ready, but you can also start from scratch and build listings directly in the interface.

What format should the metadata files be? Plain .txt files named exactly as listed above (title.txt, description.txt, tags.txt, price.txt, quantity.txt, sku.txt). For tags, separate them with commas or put one per line.

Will my listings go live automatically? Only if you choose to publish. You can save the whole batch as drafts and finish them whenever you’re ready.
